#FREEBIE FRIDAY (Aug 5) @fridayreads @Goodreads @Smashwords #reading #FF

Well, it's back to normal Freebie Fridays here at Webbiegrrl's Writings. That means I'll be featuring just 3 books a week again. I'm still going to run the whole cross-linking meme with Tracy over at the Booked Up book blog and she usually has some great reviews posted by Friday so there's really more than 3 books a week being recommended here.

Tracy's a Kindler, so she's only reviewing Kindle eBooks, and most of the books I feature are from Smashwords, which offers Kindle format (MOBI), Nook (EPUB) and other popular formats. All of the books featured below are available to sample on your eReader right now. Speaking of free samples, I've gotta pitch myself here for a change. Sorry but it's been over a month. It's time. You can avoid my sales pitch by just scrolling down to the Blop-Hop icon (see how nice I am?)

You can subscribe to this blog on your Kindle device to get it delivered directly to your eReader 4 times a week. Click here to try it out FREE for 2 weeks, then Amazon will charge you 99c a month. That's 8 posts FREE before you have to pay a dime -- less than a dime a post! Since Amazon set the price at 99c/mo and there are 4 weeks in a month, that's 25c a week and I post 4 times a week so it's 25c divided by four ($0.0625) per post. Pennies!

Even if all you really want are my Freebie Friday posts (and let's face it, readers aren't here for the Monday Marketing, are you?) aren't my pointers to FREE reads worth 6.25 cents to you? Amazing when I break it down that way, isn't it?

Okay, back to our regularly scheduled Friday meme post. Tracy's off hiking in the English mountains with her family (the gall of some people, living life, huh?) so she hasn't answered Jenn's Blog-Hop question yet. I shall pick up the slack. Geez, I've gotta do everything around here! I'm not participating in the hop but there's the logo for those of you who clicked through from Tracy's and like seeing the dancing books each week ^_^

This week, Jenn asked:

What is the one ARC you would love to get your hands on right now?

Well, that's easy. Aussie author, Helene Young, just submitted the manuscript for Book 3 in her Romantic Suspense series set in the Australian Tropics. Given Helene's day job is to pilot the jetliners featured in her books, it's gotta be a great read. I kinda need to read the first two books first though so don't anyone try to send me an ARC of book 3 until I do. *LOL*

Now onto this week's Freebie Friday reads.

First up is a juvenile SF, Mission Zero (approx. 101819 words) by S. J. MacDonald.

Skipper Alex von Strada and his corvette Minnow are sent on a makework mission after a disastrous PR mess up. Inspector Mako Ireson goes with them, still trying to work out which is the front end of the ship as they hurtle into deep space. The last thing anybody wants is for them to get caught up in a real mission. A lighthearted space adventure by the author of Spacer Tales. Be sure to check out some of the other entries in the series if you like this freebie.

To get this book free, use coupon code BE83S at check out.
(Coupon valid through Monday, August 8, 2011)

Next is a short novel in a detective series. Case Files of Newport Investigations: Case File:Prodigal Son (approx. 51161 words) by Pat Price.

Prodigal Son is a fast moving detective mystery featuring two Newport Beach detectives. One is a former surfer and ex-Army sniper, and the other an Apache Indian. They are offered a case they can't refuse by an East Coast Godfather. The case is to rescue the kidnapped son of the Godfather or be given their own section of grass to push up.

To get this book free, use coupon code BS42C at checkout.
(Coupon valid through Friday, August 5, 2011)

Last but not least, The Accidental Existentialist (approx. 13779 words) a highly-rated thriller by prolific author, Joshua Graham.

US Marine Corps Criminal Investigations Division agent stages his death to go dark and take on the head of a Russian Crime Syndicate, perpetrators of illegal arms dealing, human trafficking and the death of his first born son. Action-packed and filled with more twists than the Coney Island Cyclone, this story asks: How far would a good man go to rid the world of evil and avenge his son?

This book is currently priced as FREE so there's no coupon code required.

Don't forget that reviews are an author's lifeblood. We literally live and die by the words our readers share with us about our children--our books. Leave feedback and be sure to tell your friends about the books you love. Word of mouth is still the single-best way to find good books.

Enjoy your weekend. Stop back tomorrow morning to see what I do for this week's Saturday Surprise. Even I have no clue yet what I'll end up choosing for tomorrow. Who knows? Words, pictures, the choices are endless ^_^

Shabbat Shalom, l'kulam!

The slacker is back! Did some walking, saw some birds of prey and visited a butterfly farm. All good, clean family fun. Hope you had fun joining the hop Sarah.

Thanks, Tracy! I did enjoy my Friday Blog Hop. Oh, and not to worry, I shall ask you in September to pick up the slack for me in return. There is a Friday when I just found out I'm going to have to work. We're having physical inventory *groan* That week, I'll have to schedule my Friday post and ask YOU to do the promo! Posting comments to my post and/or RT it should suffice and you do that kind of stuff now anyway :)
